I'm still having a great deal of fun painting these 12"x12" squares, not making any money however! The last one I shipped to a Canadian Buyer cost me $20 something to ship, and was only paid $9.95 for the painting. LOL! And that isn't even discussing materials involved to create and pack, let alone labor! But hey, I'm not complaining because I enjoy doing these, and in this economy, with even health care in question, Art is the last thing on any one's mind.

MY FIRST FLOATER FRAME:

Saw a Painting in a floater-frame not long ago on wall in Dr.'s office and loved the look. Soooooo, this is my very first Watercolor, mounted on Canvas, Varnished, and mounted in Floater Frame. Love the simplicity and very contemporary look.

BACK AND SIDES OF STRETCHED WATERCOLOR ON CANVAS:

Here is back and side image of what my stretched Watercolors look like over Canvas. A second reason why I stretch over canvas, besides strength, is neat clean lines: no staples, no folded corner. Just the way I like them.

Currently I am stretching some of my older Paintings that have never been framed, and therefore, never shown. So they are almost all on 140 lbs. Arches Cold Press. But am going to try stretching some raw 156 lb. and raw 300 lb. very soon, so that I'll know what I'll face prior to stretching this weight Of Painting. Will let you know further how these come out once they are finished.

ANOTHER USE FOR MY MOUNTED 12X12'S . . .

IMAGE AND TEXT ARE BOTH COPYRIGHT PROTECTED

I had scaned a few of my Original Watercolors mounted onto 12x12's Canvas before shipping them as they sold, and decided to do a Giclee print onto Cavas and see how well it turned out. The results were great. Love it! The Giclee even shows the wonderful texture of the watercolor paper, which I love, and since this is Pigmented Ink, it will not fade from UV or run from Moisture either.

Another Size Watercolor Mounted on Canvas --

IMAGE AND TEXT ARE BOTH COPYRIGHT PROTECTED

As with many of my older Watercolor Paintings, this one has never been shown. Because they have not been never been matted and framed, and gotten ready for showings, they've remained in a stack rarely seen accept by myself. Now, with this new mounting method, they are ready to show and to see the light of day.

Going Larger w/ Stretched Watercolor Paiintings. . .

Going larger with my mounting of Watercolors on Paper. Love the look of my 12" so much, I've expanded out into including more sizes. They look great, are easy to hang, easy to ship, and require no glass. Nothing between oneself and their favorite Watercolor Painting. And perhaps best of all, I'm able to dig out some of my paintings that are somewhat older (this one from '98) and get them ready to show.

Watercolor Zoo Painting with Walunt Finished Wooden edges. . .

This Watercolor is on 140 lb. Arches cold press, then mounted onto Ampersand Clayboard panel with 2" deep solid wood edges. The wooden sides have been hand finished in Walnut and are beautiful all on their own. But when combined with the rich color within the Painting itself, it's a head turner at shows.

"Feeding Time" -- 21.5" x 28.5" x 2" deep.

Ohhhhh, having so much FUN can hardly stand it. . . .

Am totally enjoying myself with these painting . . . best of both worlds, IMHO! I get to play with my watercolors and look at it with no glass between too! Hey!!!! Just ordered 12 more 12"x12" canvas . . . guess I'll be doing these for awhile!

One Equine coming up, and have a few dogs possibly running around in my head now as well. Maybe a couple more 'endangered species', and will decide what else as I go.
